Well, it's taken some time but at last I have finally given the balcony on Hambleton Hall some railings. I've had these "railings" for ages but hadn't plucked up the courage to do anything with them. I thought initially that they would be tricky to install but it turned out to be pretty straightforward.
It really finishes off the front, I think.
The topiaries are resin with flat backs and were purchased from The Dolls House Emporium although they don't appear to have that particular style available at the moment.
All that is left to do now is deal with the baseboard and grand staircase then work my through the snagging list.
WOW! That looks great. It adds a beautiful detail to your house.
ReplyDeleteIt looks brilliant Irene, well done.
ReplyDeleteThe balcony railings look great! Are they metal?
ReplyDeleteThanks Josje, I'm pleased you like them. They're actually plastic and readily available from lots of mini shops.
DeleteMolto interessante, Irene! Mi piace il balcone curvato, è molto simile a quello che voglio fare alla mia casa. Come lo hai fatto? Le colonne sono di gesso?
ReplyDeleteThe balcony is fantastic Irene and really enhances the house
ReplyDeleteYour balcony is like the cherry on top of a sundae. It's perfect, Irene!
ReplyDeleteThe railings look like they have always been there...LOL!!! Isn't it wonderful when something we think is going to be difficult turns out to be a snap! Much better than the other way around! It would be fun to see a re-cap of these rooms...! You always find the most elegant details!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so fantastic. The house is upgraded with this balcony, it looks quite, castle-like.
